Built c1760 by the legendary Jabez Bacon, Connecticut's first millionaire merchant, the house is just off Main Street among a tapestry of museums and other historic houses. At the rear of the house is a cozy, informal Family Room/Library - originally the Keeping Room. It has the largest of the fireplaces complete with 2 beehive ovens.
